Find some space at the desk you’re working on. Use the materials provided to complete the practical tasks - spend about 5 minutes on them. Find your assigned staff member to complete the shop based tasks.
- Air drying clay - Use the air-drying clay to make a small sculpture. Photograph it and upload it to the Craft photo board. (Ask your supervisor for a camera.)
- Lino cutting - Use the tools provided to make a small lino cut. You must use different thicknesses of line and curved and straight lines. Be careful not to cut yourself!
- Plaster - Identify the different types of plaster sold at your Cass Art shop. There should be a hard, a soft and a resin plaster.
- Screen printing - Look at the screenprinting sets stocked at your Cass Art shop. Identify which techniques you could use with the materials each set provides.
- Gilding - Identify where the gold leaf is kept in your Cass shop. Look for the gold and silver flakes to see how thin and delicate they are.
